Great new features in Flow
The flow web app was just updated to include a few nice features that I'd really love to see in Nirvana (selecting multiple tasks by ctrl+click or shift+click, dragging multiple tasks onto tags, being able to change due dates in multiple tasks). You can check it out here: http://www.getflow.com/blog/
For those who haven't checked out flow yet, let me warn you that it's not a true GTD app, i.e. there's some tweaking involved to make it work with GTD. Also, while they have an iPhone app, it's slow and buggy. You'll do better with Nirvana's mobile app (especially in combination with 1Tap Mail).

Flow is terrible, but I do agree that the features you mentioned are GREAT.

I've been giving a try to flow, and I have to recognize that it is a great app for small teams to delegate and collaborate.
Similar UI (compared with Nirvana), very "Mac stile" and what is more important for me, much more dinamics implementing improvements to their app (iphone app has been updated to 2.0).
I like Nirvana a lot, but they have to be faster introducing the important updates to the app, and collaboration skills.
Proximo, I'm also coming from Toodledo, and I think flow is in the good track. Nirvana is a nice app, but or they go faster or will lose the train.
Only the price is to high for personal use, but acceptable for small companies, due to the communication skills they are offering.

I'm back into using Flow and paying for it monthly as I just can't bear the slow progress.
I find Flow great and easy to use and suits my GTD requirements well.
I'll keep one eye on Nirvana though...

Hope Flow fixed their GTD flaws. If they did, then they may have a better product. Last time I discussed what they needed to implement to even be considered GTD, they were rude to me and expected me to accept their feature set as the right way of doing it.
Blah......

Probably not for this forum but it works pretty well with me albeit using plenty of tags.
Maybe there's something I'm not looking for!

I, like Proximo, had tried it and found it wanting the first time. This time I looked at Flow's "Future" list and saw this:
Android App: Once we've released the mobile web app, we'll look into our Android usage stats and determine if hiring an Android developer is the right choice for us.
Color me unimpressed. Android is here to stay. If you need to look at stats to figure that out...

I am testing Flow again and it's much improved. I still find the UI a mess and the performance is not good either.
I don't like the fact that I can't easily separate all my task/projects into Areas like in Nirvana. You also must create your own list manually making it similar to Toodledo in that you can hack it for GTD but it's not designed for GTD.
The Delegated list sits on top of the other list which makes the UI feel separated between the list you created and some of the automatic sections they implemented.
Some information is on the left, some is on the right. When your in a project, you can't tell easily which project you are looking at unless you pay attention to the left navi and see which one is highlighted.
Don't get me wrong. Flow has some nice features but I find the UI is not that great, the speed is lagging and it's not designed for GTD which means I must sit there and play around with things to make it work for GTD. This is exactly why I left Toodledo, because I was spending more time messing with my system rather than getting things done.
With all this said, I am still open minded and keep looking at other GTD potential services. Development appears to be moving slow for many here and this is why more and more people are looking for something elsewhere.

I'm currently in the process of moving all my tasks back to Nirvana. For the last couple of months I've used Nirvana at my job and Flow for my personal tasks. While I initially liked Flow despite the fact that it's not really a GTD app, I've become somewhat frustrated with it. The iPhone app is way too slow and doesn't support landscape mode. There's no Next list, no start date, you can't manually reorder tasks in the Upcoming list (their version of Today/Focus) and now that Nirvana has improved their tag management and added batch edit, the only thing I still like better about Flow is that it offers folders. But that's not worth 10 $ a month, at least not to me. And while I agree that the release of new features in Nirvana has slowed down, it already has most of what I need, so I don't mind too much. And having come to Nirvana from RTM and Things, Elbert & Co's speed of development seems almost dizzying in comparison! :)

@Lasse
I agree and still feel that Nirvana is the best choice overall.
I wish we had some Pixie Dust we could sprinkle on development to move things forward at the same pace as the competitors. :-)

Haha, pixie dust would be great! :) As for Tinker Bell, I'm glad my 3 year old daughter prefers Pippi Longstocking! :)

I too am looking at Flow. I love Nirvana and would like to stay, but the progress is slow. If we could get an idea of a timeline for things, it would help many here to stay the course and not look around.

@David
It's hard to not look at other GTD services regardless of any promised timeline. :-)
It's in our nature.

It's only normal to look around for something better (at least that is what I used to tell the girl friend :-)
We know there is a bit of an apparent lull now.
What we're working on now are those things that are required to retire N1; migration and open signup for Nirvana (aka N2) and other non-app things -- oh, and billing processes -- those things we need to do to "product-ize" Nirvana, while still bringing out a few new features & bug fixes.
Hang in there - once we get those 'product' things taken care of, the 'app' pace will pick up again.
Cheers,
David

David,
Thanks for the feedback. You guys should maybe post something like you just said on the blog or something to that effect. I figured you guys were busy but restlessness sets in after long periods of quiet...
Also, a long time ago I requested a good N1 -> N2 migration but eventually just gave in and did it manually. It was fine. I hope you don't spend too much time inventing a good one-time tool (N1->N2 migration) in detriment of the N2 features we really, really think are critical (mobile app or API, attachments or Evernote integration)!
Good luck with setting up the store though. That will be fun for you guys - revenue stream!!

Thanks, David. Communication now for you guys is pivotal -- we realize that you all are working hard, but when we don't "see" anything for an appreciable period of time, concerns build as to why things are moving so slowly. Add on the competitors out there that are also coming out with great products and it creates a situation of more "looking around" than normal. Please consider more regular blog posts on what you guys are doing and how much closer we are to the official launch. Again, it is imperative that the Nirvana team frequently communicates to us.
Thanks for all of your hard work!

I would agree with David on this.
I love using Nirvana and have promoted it to hundreds of people. Things move fast in the Interwebs, so a constant update on the blog is a must or people will think that development has stopped or slowed to a crawl.
It may be just a quick sentence, but it makes a huge difference to the people that are using Nirvana.
I know you guys are busy and doing a bunch of stuff in preparation for launch. The silence scares lots of people and it's good for you guys to say hello more often. :-)
Keep it up and I hope things pick up for an official launch with the missing links we would like to see.
I still love you guys..... :-)

+1, but too late for me ... and it's a pity, because N2 have the potential to be a market leader.
I made a 10 people team suscription with flow.
After many months waiting for significant updates ... simply the speed is too slow.
Anyway, I will keep an eye on N2 in one year to see the evolution, because I would like to see the product going on and being successful.
Good luck!
