should I make the change from Nozbe?
Hi Guys,
I started the GTD adventure some 5 months when I came across David Allens book. I used Evernote already and quickly came across Nozbe which I am now using quite heavily. I just luuuv GTD.
My experience with Nozbe is so so. I think there are some great things about it, but the whole UI makes it seem a bit homemade, and I find there are some glitches and key functionalities that I am missing in order to make the GTD experience optimal.
I have been reading quite a few reviews in the search for the truth and the best program and and it seems like nobody has gotten it completely right yet. However Nirvana seems indeed promising. Question is whether good enough to make the transition already?
I havent tried many of the programs myself because honestly I just dont have time to test 10 different programs, especially since others have already done it.
No doubt that I will miss not having the Ipad feature, which was one of the corner stones in my choice, but I trust that it will come with time, and if other functionalities are there, then that can make up for the loss.
Key features that I have recognised from using Nozbe, that I would really appreciate being available are below. Are they available in Nirvana, or is there a good workaround?
- zero glitches (IMPORTANT)
- data being safe
- send tasks from a mail address into Nirvana
- functionality on ipad
- improved search functionality
- prime filter functiolity
- priority/energy level contexts
- speed of program
Any other experiences that can be shared by especially ex Nozbe users which I can related to?
Thanks for the effort,
Jakob

We aren't -- and don't intend to be -- a project management tool in the traditional sense.
I've done project management in companies large & small for a lot of years, and if that's what people want they should use MS Project or something of that sort. Great for planning, resource and time allocation, Gantt charts, yada-yada.
I tend to think of Nirvana (and GTD in general) as Action management.
Maybe when we open the api to the public somebody will write a mini-app to do PM task feeds into Nirvana -- you never know...

@Tom Stubbs
You are correct Sir and I apologize for my comment in saying that Nozbe is a joke. I was attacked on their forums when I tried to give some suggestions and then the response I got from the "Owner" was very immature.
Although this was my experience, it does take hard work to make software apps and I do wish them the best. There is a solution for everyone. Nozbe does not work for me but it may work for many. There is no TRUE way of doing GTD and I never suggest that if you read all my post on these forums. I simply think that most people who implement GTD expect a core set of features based on the Methodology and Nozbe is far from having this right.
Nozbe has the freedom to create a service and succeed as best they can and we all have a freedom to choose where our money goes. I think it's great that some people find Nozbe effective for their purposes. In the end, productivity is what matters and the tools either help us or get in the way.
I stand corrected on my statement.
Go Nozbe. :-)

Your contributions to the various GTD-related listservs are, undoubtedly, among the strongest, if not the strongest, made by anyone over these last few years. I've spent far too many hours reading as many listservs and discussion groups as I can find about the various programs, ever searching for that magically perfect fit for my needs. Your participation ini these discussions is amazing. I may agree or disagree, but your comments are almost always insightful, comprehensive and constructive. That takes time and I, for one, am extremely grateful and look forward to reading many more in the years to come.
I posted about my disagreement with your one comment about Nozbe. Your email in response is one classy communication. Thanks.
Here's the future of GTD programs!
