"Bring Focus Up to Date Now" - Can it be set to auto update like before?
The Bring Focus Up to Date button atop my focus list seems to be a new addition. Is there any way to get that button out of there and just have the focus list update automatically like it did before? Thanks.

I suspect it has something to do with the "brute-force server-side spawning of tasks" they referred to in the release update, which apparently had been made necessary for updating the users' equipment reliably..
But I kind of like it, indirectly ;)
it gives me a partial solution to something I care about:

Wow, Folke. That's quite a conversation you're having with yourself in that thread. :-)
I see where you're coming from in your first post. But I personally just like to have everything loaded into Focus automatically.
I wonder what the developers' official rationale was for including the new button. I can see how it works for your purpose, but that surely can't be the main reason for the new button as it is kind of an inelegant way of solving that problem.
For my usage patterns, it is just a button that I now have to click for something that should be done automatically. It's inefficient and clutters the interface.
Edit: And what's weird is that I just went back to my Nirvana for reference in writing this post, and that button is no longer on top of my Focus list. Hmm, not sure if it has already been repealed by the team or if it only is visible under certain conditions.

David McLaughlin has answered it here:

... and I get the impression your problem is going to go away.
Yes, that other thread I referred to in my earlier post is quite a monologue, isn't it :) I don't know if I am totally alone in my line of thinking, but it feels nice to think that at least "I have GTD on my side". And I have outlined a constructive compromise there which should be perfectly acceptable to eveyone, so I am still hoping ....
