An interesting tool (not GTD) - WeekPlan.net
WeekPlan.net is interesting. It is not a GTD tool, but I like seeing multiple days spread out (similar to TeuxDeux).
A couple of features could be incorporated into Nirvana:
-
multiple columns uses screen real estate well. In Nirvana I have tried to think how this could be applied, perhaps an optional third column panel that could show Someday list or something else
-
an explicit way of listing Goals that are always present -- i really like how WeekPlan does that [my hack for Nirvana is to keep a couple of tasks always at the top of my list with inspirational thoughts. I occasionally rotate them]
-
i like the smaller font and lines close together
-
completed items turn Green.
-
an exclamation point makes something urgent and turns red
I can't figure out how to drag a task from this week into next week.
Again, not a GTD tool, but I am tired of all (most) tools having a left navigator and only one other panel. I think Nirvana should think about using more real estate in innovative ways.
Rob.

I have a tool very similar to this. It's called a Calendar.
Just kidding @rfo. :-) I could not resist it. The little voices in my head are calling to me.
I am all for great new ideas. Let's just keep Nirvana simple, clean and pleasant to use. You do point out some great little improvements on identifying the task type or status.

I know split screen (multi-column, etc) is on the list to trial and a number of other UI enhancements to allow you to customize Nirvana more to personal preferences.
We'll be able to work more on those type of features after we retire N1 and some functional and infrastructure changes that are in the works.
Thanks for the suggestions.
