I'm loving the new theme options
Night background with Lucida Grande font for me. All the colors really pop against that dark background.
I feel that the Nirvana interface is looking pretty good these days.

Although it is called a "theme", it's really just the background color, right? Usually the word theme means other graphical elements, maybe that is in the future and this is just the warm up!

Yea, I have to admit that when I first read "themes," I thought it was going to be more than just the background. Ah well, maybe we'll get some more customization down the road.

First, I noticed that only 2 fonts work for me. Optima, Arial and Lucida Grande are the same font.
Second, I noticed that when I use the experimental themes, the application slows way down.
So it's back to Night background with Optima for me.

@Proximo - yep the fonts have to be installed to see, otherwise it 'falls back' to a default. @Neil R posted a link to a download for Lucida Grande in this thread... http://help.nirvanahq.com/discussions/problems/1445-3-of-the-fonts-...
More font options coming too; Verdana, Calibri, Times Roman - I think those were the ones mentioned.
Not sure why the experimental BGs would cause a slow down - I've shot a question over to Elbert to see if he can give some insight.
Thanks,
David

Maybe this could be a future font direction: http://www.google.com/webfonts
I don't know the pro's and con's but know that our web design tool recently implemented them and people were pretty happy (SquareSpace).

I guess fonts won't work for my Chromebook. I can use them when I am at work but it's not that easy for Chrome OS to use these fonts.

@Proximo - hmmm, not haivng used Chrome OS, I'm afraid I can't help you out with the fonts. I would think that there would be someway to get additional fonts into the OS, but how and where to find them - no clue.
Sorry,
David

David,
Chrome OS is way different. There is a storage system but not a file system. The OS is in the cloud. My Chrome book is nothing more than a Chrome Browser with a built in keyboard.
Don't get me wrong. I really like it and it works fine for me since I basically do everything in the cloud.
Once I get my iPad 3, I won't be using my Chrome book as much. lol
I use very powerful Workstations all day at work, so at home I do much simpler things and don't require a traditional computer as much.

Hi, I like the black wood experimental theme, Is there any plan to add custom themes or backgrounds (uploaded by me) in the future?
For now, It would be cool if you add the dark linen pattern (Apple) as a theme.
PD: And maybe, round corners in tasks would look ok.
Thanks, great job guys!!!

@iz - Yes to custom themes in the future, to what extent the customization will be is still to be determined.
When we added in the existing ones we put in some of the hooks for future user themes. No target date.
