alt + l brings up hidden, unfinished feature: smart lists

Right now it is very limited: one tag, but it shows the task from whole database (someday, waiting for, projects, next, inbox, today)

I have found two nice uses for this feature and I am sharing it here:

stuff that you might want to do in the future, or like to be reminded of at some point should be put into tickler file (GTD term)
In Nirvana you can tag your task "tickler" and put it into someday with a due date (reminder).

Now create smart list called "Tickler File" with tag "tickler". Click "Due" in tag selection and/or personal tag or work tag (if you have them).

Clean and effcient

Another great use for crude smart list is what I am calling "People"
I tagging tasks with names of people that are vital to moving the project foward: in other words I am needing their imput.

I have created smart list for my boss, wife, father and now I can see all the stuff that I am involved with them at some level

great when you are on the phone with that person and you can see what you could ask them about /ask them to do

Give it a try

one more thing: if your list gets messy then use numbers to bring it to order

    1 - Tickler
    2 - person a
    3 - person b

    neat :D

    MarcinGTD, re smart lists--

I like your "tickler" work around and will give it a try.

With searches for people (or any other tag), I believe you can find the same tasks by using the search box in the upper right corner. Search "call" and it will find all tasks so tagged. However, it will also find all instances of the term "call" so I've started prefacing my tags with the @ sign. Now a search for @call brings up tasks with that tag (and a few tasks where I used @call in the notes). I've done the same thing with people (e.g., @mark) which I use for agendas as you describe.

Smart lists certainly are easier because all you need to do is click once, but they will really shine once we can create lists with multiple tags (AND, and OR).

P.S., it looks like you can't create smart lists at the moment.

@Terminado. Just to confirm. I cannot create smart lists either (Chrome 4.1).
The one I already created works fine though.

Yes, they aren't currently active but I understand they will return. Looks like you can use any you've already set up, though.
