Nirvana 2 mobile on Android - Moving Tasks relative to one another in a list

I just want to check something.

I can't seem to find a way in Nirvana 2 mobile to move tasks relative to one another in a list. The 'old' Nirvana mobile app has arrows to shuffle tasks up and down. Is there an equivalent in Nirvana 2 and if not is one coming?

I should perhaps add that I seem to be using build 186 of Nirvana 2 on an HTC Desire running Android 2.2

Let me check where that's showing up on the priority list, and I'll let you know.
I know Elberts been looking at the mobile space lately.

Be nice to know when its expected.

I think when this functionality is ported to Nirvana 2 I will be able to use your application in anger. It all looks very promissing. Anyway thanks for your help.

Just got an update on this - it is being worked on now as a matter of fact.

It's in our Focus task list for the next release, along with a couple other items for mobile.

At this point all Focus items are expected to be in the release.
    Should be soon.

That's great news - thank you for letting me know and much appreciated.

I know you are wary of giving dates but can I just ask if we are talking about a likely release in the next month say? Useful in planning but I would not build a business plan around it and beat you if it moves! I'm just pleased its in.

    Thanks again.

Update - we had to push out a maintenance release. so I guess it's the next-next release; it's still in the Focus bucket at any rate.

Elbert had a number of changes made to the mobile app but had to back out the UI changes that worked fine on iOS, but broke -- as in memory dump, reset device, no input entry, kind of broke -- in Android -- weird.

Bit of a pain to say the least, but hang in there.

Thanks for coming back and Oh what a shame - especially since it works in Nirvana 1! I await developments as they say.

I think I misunderstood where you are in doing this.

Build 206 was the pushed out maintenance release and I thought the next build would have it.

But sadly mobile build 215 does not have this Nirvana 1 functionality included yet. I see a bunch of other UI changes, which is great of course.

Can I just check this is still an enhancement in the Focus area for the next release? Many and great thanks as ever.

Nope, you didn't misunderstand - but after Elbert looked at it a bit more, he knew he wouldn't have time to get it in the release.

There were a fair number of changes that would have to be made to work "right", and those would have taken a while (N2 internals are quite different than N1) .

I get the impression he's more interested in puting that time into a native app, rather than the mobile web.

    What a very great shame.

I don't get the feeling that any Android native App is that near - if there a post that indicates broad timeframes? The sheer diversity of Android phones also represents an additional learning curve if you are doing the app in house.

I'd request though that this functionality is baked in from the start (as it seems to have been in N1). The reason I track/use Nirvana2 and Nozbe is because you offer the ability to order actions by hand (on proper computers anyway). If that's not there across the board the system is less interesting to me.

Just wanted to do a bit of a tidy up on this given the recent blog on plans and rough timescales.

First off you are retiring N1 and putting people over to N2 - at some point in the Summer I suspect (though it is not stated).

When those users come to use the current N2 Android solution they will find their ability to juggle tasks has gone (and possibly other things too - don't know).

I know wrt to the standard browser web interface you are looking to include all N1 functionality into N2 before the retirement (wise!), so it will be things like this that will inflict some pain on such users.

From what you say no more enhancements are planed to the current Android solution. Instead a native Android app is planned for late summer/early autumn (no guarantees etc). I think that's great. However what I would hate is for the lost N1 functionality to not make the cut and get into the Android app in version 1 of the delivery. For it to be delayed weeks and months would be painful. I'd imagine all the other ex-N1 users will feel the same...
