Some tasks getting starred before due date ?

I have this feeling (but until now I am not completely sure) that some tasks with a due date, are getting starred (and put in the Focus list) by Nirvana before their due date.

I mean by this, that I do see tasks who haven't reached their due date yet in my Focus list, but as I have a lot of tasks (and, at the moment, admittedly, too much tasks in my Focus list) I am not 100 % sure that I haven't put the star there myself (althought I don't think so).

Anyone else experiencing this ?

Tasks can get starred & focused, manually, when their scheduled date occurs, or when their due date occurs.

Were the tasks scheduled, by chance?

No, they weren't scheduled tasks. I think they were Next and/or Waiting for tasks.

90 % of my next tasks don't have due dates, but if it's really important that a task gets done by a certain date, I put a due date on it, and I think the premature starring happened with these.

For the next few days, I'll keep a close eye on what I put in the Focus list manually, and what appears there because of a due date, and see if and when it happens again.

    It happened again today.

I think it occurs while using the mobile app on my iPhone (which I use every now and then - not too frequently). I opened the mobile app, then looked up a few tasks in Next and Waiting for. I did not create new tasks.

After that, a Waiting for task that has a due date of Sept. 30th, became starred, and visible in my Focus List.

I realise this may not be enough info to recreate the problem, but it's all I have for now. I'll keep watching for similar problems.

Just had a similar thing happen to me yesterday. A couple of items I had un-starred in desktop became re-starred. I even made sure to sync before logging off of webapp.

I think it's because of the iPhone. When I use the iPhone to just look and check-off tasks, no problems. But if I create a new task or edit a task on mobile version, a few wacky things happen like the mysterious re-starring.

I just had one today. A task scheduled for 30th September with a due date of 30th September was automatically starred today 9th September. I unstarred it and it went away. I'll see what happens tomorrow

Today, two tasks got starred and made it onto my Focus list, that aren't due for another 3 and 5 days. I am 100 % sure that I haven't starred these tasks myself earlier (finally got my Focus list down to no more than 3 or 4 tasks per day, so now it's easy to spot tasks that get added automatically).

One is a Waiting for task, the other one a Next task.

I haven't used the mobile website in a few days, so the bug must be in the main app ...

    Same here.
Something with a start date of Dec. 1 popped into my focus list a couple of days ago. I am pretty sure it happened when I logged on to N2 from a different location (on my PC which I hadn't used Nirvana on in a long time).
I just unstarred it. I wonder if it'll come back when if I go back to the PC.

I think Alex is right when he says that logging on with a different computer will trigger the bug.

I use Nirvana mainly in my workplace, and I've seen the bug appear when I use the mobile version on my iPhone, or when I access Nirvana from my computer at home.

Just wanted to make a bug report about this as well. At first when this happened I wasn't sure if I had simply entered a wrong start date by accident. But today some scheduled tasks were moved to Focus even though I had set the start date to Thursday.
From what I can tell I've also only noticed this when I access Nirvana from another computer than the one on which I've made the changes (i.e. scheduled a task at home, found it in my Focus list at work).

Just happened again. When I opened Nirvana this morning at work (pc runs Vista) everything was fine. When I went to my second job (pc runs XP) and opened Nirvana around noon, I suddenly found 9 tasks in Focus which I had scheduled yesterday to start on various dates in the furute (after today oviously).
    Here are some more details:

    • All tasks that I had moved to Scheduled yesterday were moved to Focus.
    • The tasks were scheduled to start on different dates (i.e. some tomorrow, one on Saturday etc.).
    • Those tasks that I scheduled for Thursday yesterday were moved to Focus, whereas a task that I scheduled for Thursday a few days ago remained in Scheduled. Hope this helps.
