    Hi Rob -

You've found a bug that we are aware of. Your emails are getting to Nirvana (server side) but you're just not seeing them in your Inbox. If you logout/login you'll see them. Better workaround, if you're logged in, clicking on the Nirvana logo (top left) will force Nirvana to check the server for any new tasks that may have recently appeared. Your emailed tasks should show up then.

I had the same issue and eventually found out by myself that refreshing the page would show the emailed tasks. However, two of the tasks, out of about 20 in as many minutes, never made it to Nirvana's inbox. could it be because they had attachments and were too big? Is there any kind of restriction on emailed tasks (frequency, size, etc.)? I sent the tasks back without the attachments and they got through the second time. To be complete, I must point out that some other emails with (lighter) attachments made it to the inbox on first attempt without any problem.

    Hi Lasares...

Emails being sent to your Nirvana inbox shouldn't exceed 200KB - these won't make it through. Like you note in your post, emails with lighter attachments do make they way through because the email + attachment = less than 200KB and we then strip out the attachment.

Hope this clarifies the email -> inbox mystery. :)

Wouldn't it be possible for Nirvana to always strip the attachments and then eventually keep only the first 200KB of the message? Or at least advise in some manner that it has refused an emailed task?

I don't want to have to check the "weight" of my emails before forwarding them to Nirvana as a way to add a task.

If I understand correctly, an email that is overweight will simply be refused by Nirvana and I will never be noticed that it was. Since I have also archive the email and clear my brain of this concern, I will never know it has been incorporated in my GTD system... until somebody screams at me again?

Just kidding, people around me don't scream. Or they haven't yet...

You bring up some very valid points Lasares. Email -> inbox needs some improvements to help take the thought process/work out of forwarding emails to your Nirvana inbox. Duly noted.

As a workaround and to help keep my email -> inbox tasks clear and uncluttered of too much information I usually copy the text from an email, and quickly create a new email and paste. This way my email starts off clean and I don't have to go through the process of stripping attachments etc...

Perhaps this workaround can work for you as well until email - inbox becomes more robust.

    thanks!

    Thanks for the suggestion, Christiane.

This wouldn't work for me however, since I want the email forwarded to Nirvana to remain part of the "conversation" or "thread" of emails it relates to, as Gmail allows me to do. I explained the benefit of this in another suggestion : http://help.nirvanahq.com/discussions/suggestions/465-using-first-l...

I'll just try to make sure I strip attachments until you get around to the improvements you are planning. No sweat.
