Removing tasks from projects

I am trying to move tasks out of projects into Next (thereby removing the project association) and can't seem to find a way to do it!

Similarly dragging tasks from trashed intp Next seems to lose them altogether.

Bug or User Incompetence?

   Bug.

   This used to work as you described but cause confusion when people where trying to assign a task in a project as a Next Action and they would move them to the Next list. As you described, this would remove the task from the project and caused confusion for many.

   This will be fixed soon and I think the new Unified Next List will solve the problem.

   For now you can drag the project task to the inbox which will remove it from the project and then you can drag it from the inbox to the Next list. I know it's not a good solution, but it's the only way to do it until it's fixed.
