Palm pixi Nirvana 2
I started a discussion about this elsewhere, but, it now occurs to me that this is the better place for it. (Duh! Sorry...)
I would like to be able to use nirvana on my palm pixi. I understand, and have read, the well-reasoned argument that nirvana will be better if the developers do not waste time trying to make it pretty for all browsers and platforms. So, my question here is actually this: Will palm and nirvana play nicely together sometime soon, or have you all written off palm?
Thank you!

Who is Palm?
Just kidding John. :-)
It's always hard for developers to spend their time on platforms with very little usage. If the Palm platform turns around and becomes a player again, maybe it would be considered down the road.
At this point I could almost bet that very little time will be devoted to the platform. Maybe after all the main platforms are in a good stable form, they can dedicate some time to Palm and address the issues.
I know we are all usually locked to a 2 year contract for our cell phones/smart phones, but I could only imagine your next phone will not be a Palm device.
Hope things work out for you.

Well, I've done some research.... It looks like WebOs 2.0 will likely be a good playmate for nirvana. Unfortunately, my carrier is Sprint, so I have to wait for the update. Can anyone with a pre 2 with os 2.0 confirm that nirvana2 mobile works well?
I know it's fashionable to bash palm, and for good reason, but, I must say that I have been extremely pleased with my pixi. I thnk it's crashed once in the 8 months I've had it now, and, that was due to a buggy app. Most of the folks I know with the more popular competitors have not had such a good experience. The newest droids may yet prove to be the best option of all, but it's early days.
Anyway, this is kind of a big deal for me, since I would really like to move to nirvana exclusively, but not having mobility is a deal breaker for me.
And I know you were kidding around :) I just hate getting caught up in meta issues like this. The point of GTD is to get your tasks off your mind. Today I couldn't even get the way in which I organize my tasks off my mind... ugh.

Nah, we haven't written it off. It's just not something we're focused on specifically.
Our philosophy is to do everything by the book (or by spec, as it were). If some mobile browsers are half-implmemented, so be it. They'll catch up. They'll have to. N2 may be at the forefront of html5 right now, but over time other sites will put the same demands as we do on your mobile browser, and the browsers will improve.
Right? Right?!!
Chrome (desktop/android) and Safari (desktop/ios) are champs. The Firefox guys are hard at work trying to catch up. Internet Explorer 9 is supposed to be right on their heels. Even Blackberry is working on a new browser as they've finally accepted that their current browser is stuck in the 90's and customers are revolting. The Palm folks must be aware... right?!!

@Elbert: Still waiting for Nirvana API to be published so that I can put together a webOS application.
Oh, and webOS is a webkit browser so...the Nirvana team shouldn't have to do much customizing for webOS.
@Proximo: HP is throwing a lot of resources at Palm and webOS. You should hear a lot more from CES in January. I can only imagine that John's next phone will be a Palm device.

@haeffb
WebOS has soooooo much potential. I do hope HP does the right thing and give us another great choice for smartphones. I also hope they offer the WebOS with multiple providers. This is one of the reasons the original WebOS did not do so well. They picked a provider that did not have the numbers needed to get the WebOS out to many people.
Nothing wrong with having another major player in the market. :-)
My personal ranking for mobile OS are:
Blackberry can go away for all I care and Meego can also die. :-)

Hey, it's working as of build 115. Hooray! And this, with the same old web 0s 1
Thank you for your replies and hard work. The semester is almost over and, once it is, I am going to complete my migration to nirvana.
