Waiting For hangs

When I assign a task, currently the program is hanging with the dialog box still on the screen. I can see the green "working" status box in the background, but after a minute or two nothing has happened and I have to cancel out of it.

On the larger issue of "Waiting For": In theory, I like the concept that Nirvana would email my contacts and remind them I'm waiting on something, but in practice I realize I would want to write that email every time, in case it needed to be worded carefully or something. Furthermore, very often I'm not waiting for a particular person - I'm either waiting for an event, like something to arrive in the mail, or until that meeting on Tuesday. I wish the Nirvana had a way where I could set something to "waiting for" but not have to assign it to a person, necessarily.

Hi Zach - I've seen this happen once or twice, but haven't been able to reproduce it with any consistency. What os/browser are you using?

Hi Zach, since you wrote in with your issue we have released some little updates. Are you still having issues with hanging?

Also, to answer your question/comment re: Waiting For. No automatic emails are being sent out to your contacts once you assign then as a waiting for contact (just want to make sure are aware). We agree, you want those emails to be worded by you and have that separation between your internal notes and how you present things to your client. In the future we may set this up as a preference - to send out automatic emails - but that's still to be determined.

I wish the Nirvana had a way where I could set something to "waiting for" but not have to assign it to a person, necessarily.

I have created generic contacts and don't set up an email for them - such as "bank", or "postoffice" etc... so you can create and assign "contacts" without putting in their full contact info. But I see what you are saying about not having the ability to mark the task as a Waiting For without a contact at all. Could then use tags to tag as "bank" or "postoffice"... will mull this over.

    Hi Christiane,

Unfortunately, Waiting For still hangs for me. (On Chrome and Firefox, on
    both Mac and PC.)

Also, while I love the idea of the new checkbox feature, that isn't working
for me either. When I navigate away from a list and then return later, all
of my checked boxes have become unchecked.

    Thanks,

    Zach

OK- thanks for this info. This helps. Sounds like we aren't properly escaping quotes or some other character in one or more of your contacts. Will have a look at this today.

I think we fixed the problem. Please refresh your browser (if you're
currently logged in) and let us know if we finally got it right.

    Thx a million,
