Can't save context and Area of Focus at same time
I've got an Area called Home (indicating it's related to my
home) and a context/tag called @home (meaning I can only do the
task when I am physically at home).
If I try to add both to the same task, then Nirvana will only save
down the first one: it looks like it takes both but when I navigate
away and the back to the task, I find that the second one is
missing.
Thanks,
Tim

This sounds like something i reported since he first build of N2
I have 'Work' and '@work' similar to you.. as soon as i add @work to something with 'Work' already, 'Work' vanishes as soon as i switch views
My other AoFs work fine, but do not have contexts with the same name

Yes, that sounds like it.
I've found that it always loses whichever the second one is, so if I add "Work, @work" (in that order) then it will keep Work, but if I change the order then it will keep @work instead.
If the developers are being slow to respond on this, I guess the workaround would be to rename the contexts to @house and @office so at least they mean the same thing.
I'll give this a try and let you know if it works.

Thanks for bringing this up again. I've finally been able to reproduce the bug consistently and now understand why it's happening in the code. Will hopefully get to address this soon, along with the "ampersand in contexts" bug.
Side note... I use the following, which I think more accurately describes the situation.
Areas: Work, Personal
Contexts: office, home
A subtle distinction, but an important one, I think. Work is an area, office is just a location. Ditto, Personal is an area, home is a location.
I name them this way as there's no reason why I can't do Personal tasks at the office, or Work tasks at home.
Also, it's rare that I want to be focused on my Work life and Personal life at the same time, so this top-level split works best for me.

I agree on the naming issue in general... I have an office at home too though :) Maybe it is an english thing but people do say 'at work' as if 'work' is a location too
Anyway, none of that really matters people should use whatever makes sense to them, it's a bug to be fixed, glad you found it
any way to mass rename ? :)

Yes! Wonderful! I will truly celebrate when the ampersand bug is finally squashed!
Thanks, Elbert! :))

Hi Martin,
Thanks for letting me know about the potential fix, particularly with
reference to the characters like & and @.
Yes, I can see your point about naming conventions, and I have been thinking
about renaming some of them anyway.
However, I tend to use Personal as an area applying directly to me (and only
me), while I use Home as applying to kind of "home and family" area ...and
@home as being "at my house".
-I have a separate project for House, which is to do with decorating!.
...So can anyone think of a better option for @home?
Thanks,
Tim
