This system is great. One question before i start using it properly, how much will it cost when launched?

@Bill
A great app that is cloud based and supported as much as Nirvana would be worth the investment.
I would hate to try and code this on my own.
Nothing wrong with supporting developers who create apps that enhance my life.

@Proximo
I don't disagree and have supported open-source projects in the past and would support Nirvana. I would also buy the product at a market price and pay for future releases, just not a monthly/annual subscription. Demographically, I'm guessing I'm right in their target (age, career, family, etc), but I'm a little outside the camp when it comes to subscription models; I don't even have Netflix or cable for that matter.
So far the free evernote version has worked ok for me, so hopefully Nirvana will do something free (that'll I'll contribute to) that will work too.

@Bill
Understood.
I do have Netflix and don't mind the subscription model as long as it adds value to my life. Not sure if Netflix add value to my life, but my 4 year old loves the instant streaming of all the Dora cartoons. lol
I have a subscription service for my Lawn care, Pest Control, Netflix, Magazines and other things I find useful.
I understand what you are wanting. Some of the software I use professionally allows you to buy the software out right and you can choose to be on maintenance for future updates. If you don't want to be on maintenance, you can upgrade ever few years to the latest version to take advantage of the improvements.

I have just found my way to this web site and haven't even yet started trying the beta of Nirvana, but I do have a comment I feel strongly about regarding the plans for the freemium model. Please don't make https access a Premium feature. All your customers, including those who use Nirvana for personal planning without the fancier features, deserve to be able to login without having their passwords sniffed, at a minimum. With apps like Firesheep available, there is a case to be made for more use of https, not less, to protect complete sessions even after initial login from theft of the session cookies. I know that I would not want my todo items to be easily snifffable even when I am using a personal-only free version of planning software.
Basic security should not be an afterthought, nor should it be optional.

@bugstomper
Very good point. I will agree.

@bugstomper - we're with you on that.
https protocol will be the standard for all service plans, including free.

One question: If we have more than five projects during beta, what happens post-beta? Will some of our projects disappear until we upgrade to premium? You've said that people will be able to switch back and forth at any time, but how will you handle the data transition from unlimited to limited?
