I don't get the Next List
I don't understand the value of the next list in Nirvana. My thinking is that is should show just the next action of every active project? As it is it just shows the Project and I have to click on the project. Manually dragging a task, which would also be fine, does not work either. My assumption is it would work kind of like the Today view except it would be for an area that has task in it that need to be done, but not ones that must be today. Am I missing something?

There may be other recent discussion where this came up since the last update on July 1 or so, but I think these two probably summarize the discussion the best.
And welcome to Nirvana!
(p.s. I think you are absolutely correct.)
EDIT: This also captures some of this discussion as well: http://help.nirvanahq.com/discussions/suggestions/438-a-unified-nex...
Although the discussion seem to focus on the "Later" list, the core issues are still the same... 1) how SHOULD the Next List function and 2) why bother with a Later list.

Proximo, other than the fact that I can't get anything attached to a project to show up in the next list since the update, your video nails exactly what I would like to have happen. I don't even need the automated movement of items. I like the idea of perusing my projects and moving next items into the next list.

Hi,
I am (English, but) in China behind the "great firewall" through which youtube doesn't pass.
Can someone please describe the intended functionality?
I imagined the "next" tab to automatically show my NA's and, as I ticked them off, to automatically show the next NA's? This would make it simpler to use surely? If I have to look through my projects and drag them into the "next" tab area every time I tick off an NA, well ...what's the point?
Regards,
James.

@James
Here is a screen shot to see if it makes sense.
The Next list will show ALL Next Actions regardless if they are single task or project task. There is no Projects section in the Next List to separate the project task from the single task. They all live in one unified list that allows us to sort by priority, but the project task clearly stand out with a link to the project.
Hope this helps.

I agree with Proximo (and many other Nirvana users) regarding the Next list. The unified next list discussion is great, but all I want right now is a list that behaves just like the Today list with the project names in blue to the right of the task like in Proximo's post above. Everything else is just icing on the cake :-).
