How to insert or reference images in tasks?

I have an image I captured that has everything I need to define a task.

The question is how do I paste this or create a link to reference it in the task detail so it's right there when I get around to actually doing it, without having to go searching for it?

You can upload the picture to a service like picasa, flickr, Evernote or Dropbox. Then copy the URL link into your task notes

Proximo, how did I know you'd have an answer? : -o

OK. In this particular case, I copy and pasted the image into a Word doc. Now the next question is, I see I can identify the URL for a picture, but thinking ahead, how can I identify and paste a document location (.doc, .pdf, or other) into a task so that I can just embed the link and click on it when I need it?

Nirvana would not recognize a path to an OS, It would only recognize a URL.

To link Nirvana to a document on your computer would be something that is not possible. You need to use some kind of on-line service that allows you to link your documents or files through a URL.

I could be wrong since I am not a Rocket Surgeon. :-)

Nor a Brain Scientist? ;-) Apologies Proximo, couldn't resist.

@Glenn - I guess you could upload your Word doc to Google docs and link to that.

@Glenn: Sometimes when I want a document to be accessible from anywhere but still want it in a certain folder on my computer (e.g. "CV" in "Job Applications"), I move the file to my dropbox folder and create a shortcut for it. I then move the shortcut to the original folder ("Job Applications"). That way I can access "CV" from any pc (via dropbox) and from the "Job Applications" folder. And if I want to, I can paste a link to "CV" in Nirvana.

    Great suggestion Lasse.

I am a Dropbox user and have linked to my public folder in the past. What Glenn wants to accomplish can be done in several ways, but they all involve a URL link to the documents location.

Dropbox and Google Docs are probably the two best choices for accomplishing this.

Since we are at it, even though it is not srtrictly Nirvana related (but
maybe GTD-related or at least productivity-related), I would like some more
feedback from people who have been using the likes of Dropbox. My next big
move to the cloud is to use such a service for my files, and I was wondering
    what is the best choice.

Dropbox is mentionned very often among the favorites, but I also hear about
Box.net and some others. Why did you choose Dropbox or whatever you settled
    for?

Lasse, I'm going to have to check that out.

@Lasares, from what I've seen, Dropbox absolutely blows everything else out of the water. It requires no thought, is 100% seamless, and is AWESOME!

    I've tried box.net and there's NO comparison.

    No prob Lasares.

I have a desktop and laptop PC. I was synchronizing my files with Briefcase, and it was a GIANT P.I.A. Someone turned me on to Dropbox and I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. It really is perfection. : -)

    @Lasares,

Dropbox is not only easy, but with a quick search you will find many cool things you can do with it. You can keep a KeePass database on it, remote into your computer and many other great things.

The iPhone app is great for taking your stuff on the road.
