Any ETA on the next release?

Hello Team Nirvana, the last major release was more than a month ago (12-20 - and I am not including build 123, which patched a single calendar bug). Can you please give us an ETA on the next release?

To be honest, as much as I like the promise of N2, the realization of that promise seems to be receding into the distant horizon. That is perhaps too pessimistic of an assessment, but I look at the list of unresolved bugs, along with long-promised features which are still waiting to... mature? I'm unclear as to what the delay means, but it is worrisome. All of which leaves me discouraged.

So can we please get an idea w.r.t. your next planned release? A realistic road map of planned feature enhancements would be appreciated, also. Thanks!

    Amen.
What a shame - the release of N2 held such promise...

I don't even care about a road map. I just wish that there was some evidence that some of the issues in your wonderful list (http://help.nirvanahq.com/discussions/questions/329-question-for-th...) were being tackled. As it is, I suspect the worse (that development ceased, for whatever reason).

Meanwhile, I'm in limbo - stuck in N1, unable to reimport fresh into N2... :-(

As per the blog post mentioned above, we are working to get back on a regular release schedule. We are back-logged on private support requests, but they should be culled through by next week. We are also spending more time than we'd like on infrastructure stuff, but that should be squared away shortly.

So no, we're not dead. Far from it. We're adjusting to a doubling in the size of the team, and if the old hats don't take the time to bring the new blood up to speed, they'll just wind up paddling in circles.

This is great news! I missed the announcement because I only monitor the forums, not blog/twitter.

Happy also to hear that you do go through private support requests. I wasn't sure if my private request to have my N1->N2 transiition re-done would really get viewed! :-)

Anyway, glad to hear the good news and looking forward to seeing the new team in action!

    Cheers, -Alex

    Elbert,

Thank you for your reply on this thread and also on the private thread. I do not want to seem unappreciative of the work already done, believe me. I want you to build something great.

I've seen other products with great promise get mired down - and thus my concerns (not, at least from a historical perspective, unfounded - however, I really want to believe they are unfounded w.r.t. N2).

So get the crew rowing in unison and make that finish line. Let's hope it doesn't move... ;)

    Hi Team Nirvana,

I'm bumping this because it has been three weeks since the last post. I'm wondering if you can give us some kind of an idea where you are with respect to the next release. If you are not in a position to offer us an accurate (or approximate) ETA, it would be good if you just said that. I'd rather not harbor any unrealistic expectations.

On the other hand, if you are in a position where you have a high level of confidence in an ETA estimate, it would be terrific to know! One week from today will mark exactly two months since the last major build.

I've adopted and am learning Omnifocus now, but N2 remains at the top of my list for promise, accessibility and UI. I would just appreciate more visibility (if feasible - and only if it is realistic) into development progress and anticipated timeline. Thanks!

Thanks, Elbert! That is great news. I've already commented on this new and welcome update on another thread, so on this one I will just repeat my thank you! :)

What happened to the "releases every two weeks plan"? I know you are preparing for leaving Beta, but it seems to really have been a long time.

    Any updates?

    Rob.
