Recurring project (instead of task) ?

I've got a handle on recurring tasks (and love the feature), but is there a way (or a need) for recurring projects?

I fear my list of projects is growing unmanageable. Most of my work projects are recurring each year (with a recurring set of sequential tasks), and so instead of moving inactive projects to "inactive" status, I'd like to just put them out of immediate view for another year, and then have them automatically reappear when it's time to think about them again.

Can't find a way to do this in N2, and I haven't seen any mention of this feature (or a desire for it) in the forums.

Anybody know how to do this? Any interest in this feature? Or is this the place to utilize a calendar/tickler setup? (Still new to GTD :)

I think many people would have a situation were a recurring project is needed.

Adding the ability for recurring projects is probably a good idea. Not sure about making a project inactive for one year.

Can't remember if Nirvana Staff already mentioned if recurring projects are coming. I know some have requested it in the past.

Both the ability to have recurring projects, and the ability to make a copy of a task or project, have been talked about and are on our list of potential future enhancements.

No final decision or timeline at this point, sorry.

I'd love to have both options but if I had to choose, I'd rather be able to copy a task or a project. I have quite a number of tasks that are the same everytime I see a new patient. As of now, every time I know I'll be seeing a new patient, I have to type in all the same tasks over and over again. If I could simply copy a project or use a template, that would save me a lot of work!
Hmm, having said that, I just had an idea for a workaround. Maybe I can create email templates that I just have to mail to my Nirvana inbox. Then I can just create a new project and drag the tasks there... I'm curious to see how it works.

    Lasse,

Sounds like a neat idea. Let me know if you try it out and if it works well.

@Proximo, just tried it and it works - at least as far as Nirvana's email to inbox feature works (which means you can't send tags, for example). I'll make a post about this in the Suggestions section.
