Newbie from Remember The Milk
Hi, I'm a new user and migrating my tasks from RTM.
A few questions:
1) How do I print a "Weekly Planner", i.e., list of tasks due in
next 7 days neatly formatted? I like to print my task list and
check it off as I complete my tasks.
2) When I print list of tasks in a project. or Today (focus).. each
line only has 3 to 4 words. A task that should be in a line is
being printed in 2 lines?
3) Can I get a daily to-do list as an email? (similar to RTM)
4) Is there a plan to have a location function, i.e. home location
on map... linked to home context or area of focus. It would be
helpful to implement this feature in iphone native app (similar to
RTM)
5) Smart list, i.e., custom search? (similar to RTM)
6) Ability to edit multiple tasks? (similar to RTM)
Any suggestions for GTD setups? Below is for RTM:

I have only been accepted today so can't answer much, however:
3. in account settings, there is an option for email tickler which seems to be what you are after.
5. staff have said they are working on it.
GTD setup questions: AFAIK, the entire app is designed around GTD and therefore you shouldn't need to change anything to get it working with it :)

This is not RTM... so no need for fancy GTD setup instructions! ;-)

And isn't that good :) I am surprised at the way RTM developers have worked on RTM, they don't seem to update it at all and seem to ignore users requests in favour of simplicity - however I have seen heaps of people who have left RTM for this reason. I tried it for a week and went with Toodledo, which I am currently using however looking forward to switching to Nirvana soon.

Hello... I'll address some of the questions on this thread:
A few questions:
We do not have this feature in place. What I can suggest is that if you plan for your week you could add due dates to your tasks that you want to acompish on Monday, Tuesday etc... (not very GTD I know... but hey, we want to let some GTD light people use Nirvana too!). In the NEXT view you can click on
Duein the tag/context bar. You'll then see all the tasks due for the next week (and then some if you have due dates set further into the future). You can then print this view. What browser are you using? We are aware of some printing issues and are working to resolve them.
see cbarber's comment above... you can set this up in account settings.
I would say no to a location-based GPS function. But, we have planned something called Areas of Focus which you can set up and toggle yourself. I.e. all
worktasks would show up only in the Work Area of Focus. In development... BUT there is, what we call, the "Poor Man's" version of smart lists already hidden. On your keyboard, press "l" (that's lower case "L"). type in the tags oftasks you want to filter into one list. Let me know if you have any questions. (check out a more detailed post here: http://help.nirvanahq.com/discussions/problems/134-how-to-show-all-... )
not yet... but in the future
hope these answer all your questions!

Thanks so much for your detailed answers. I'm glad that I switched from RTM to Nirvana.
ref. printing problem: I'm using Chrome and printing via the "print" button in Nirvana.
Can smart list be customized with additional parameters: e.g., context = errand AND due < 14 days

Smart Lists will be able to do that, but the Poor Man's version is SUPER simple... so no, not yet.
thanks for the extra info re: Chrome print issue...

I can concur that the printing of lists in Chrome is, in a word, borked. However, Chrome is so zippy nowadays, I can deal with it. It's like a Porsche, fast and fun, just no place for the briefcase.

@DCClarke.... LOVE the analogy. Need to remember that one. :)
