Where do you keep someday/maybe items?
Are you keeping your somedays in Nirvana?
I have learned that the perfect place for somedays is evernote. Not only I can capture those kind of items more easly (using evernote clipper to save that movie I would like to see straight off http://www.imdb.com/), but also Nirvana can get ABSURDLY bloated with someday items.
I really like the freedom and comfort that someday list gives and I am throwing stuff in there all the time.
It pains me that I have a part of Nirvana that I am not using, but I simply cannot make it work.
How are you managing your someday/maybe list?

I use the Someday list in Nirvana for task that I captured in my inbox and decided they were not actionable at the moment but I want to consider for some other time.
Something like a movie I will simply capture in my Netflix Que and I process that Que once a month to make sure I still want to see everything I have listed.
As for normal type task, Nirvana Someday list works perfect for me. If I decide to make it actionable during my weekly review it's a simple click away or a drag and drop to my Next list.
I have no issues with using the Someday list in Nirvana for just about anything that could be actionable one day.
Evernote is more of my Reference bucket. I use it to collect things that I can and many times pass on to Nirvana, but a lot of it is just stuff I want to keep as Reference.
I don't keep a Someday list in Evernote although I guess you could. I use Nirvana because it keeps the flow of GTD simple.

Same here. I also prefer to have them in Nirvana. At least in that way they are processed with tags and areas etc and are ready for regular review.
What I also do in the "less probable" (lower) part of Someday is I have hijacked the project functionality to group related items together as "parallel projects" or "collections". This shortens the list.

I only use Evernote for someday stuff.
For me, "Somdeday" stuff can basically be everything: notes, pictures, files, memos, emails, hand-drawn ideas etc. Remember that per defnintion, Someday stuff is not necessarily actionable.
Therefore I don't like to have to transfer all of these different types of input into text-based Nirvana.
I have three Someday folders in Evernote that I review every week:
@Someday Private
@Someday Work
@Someday Purchases
Now I can put whatever I want in these folders and don't have to think about how it is formatted. When I do my weekly review, I then transfer the Someday items into actionable entries in Nirvana. Works like a charm for me and simplifies my workflow :)

@Dafyren
I guess I see this a little different than you do.
"Someday stuff is not necessarily actionable".
I actually think that Someday stuff is always actionable. The question is, Is it actionable right now. Everything in a Someday list is a task or potential project that is currently not actionable at the moment and you have not decided to delete it or delegate it. You leave it in the Someday list for further review which gives you a chance to consider it in the future or you may end up deleting it.
Reference material is different. Reference material is just that. It's not a task or potential project, so by definition it's no "Actionable" either, but there is a difference between Reference and Someday.
Notes, Pictures, files, etc. are all Reference material, but not Someday items. Someday list is still filled with task and projects that you simply have not decided to take action on at the moment.
Reference material is different. I can't take action on a file or picture. It's there for Reference. If I have a recipe for a great steak, it's simply something I kept as a Reference that I may want to go look at again. If l decided to make a great Steak Dinner for my friends and Family, I would probably create a project with all the details to pull this dinner off, and would look in Evernote to retrieve the recipe for preparing my steak.
I hope you see the difference. Reference materials are not task or projects but just referencing something we want to keep. Someday task however are task and projects that I don't want to take action on at the moment but can be actionable some time in the future.
My Recipe will never be actionable, but that does not make it Someday. It's a Reference document.
Hope this makes some sense. This is why I don't use Evernote for Someday task or projects. I use Evernote for Reference materials which are not the same thing.

Thanks for clarifying Proximo. I agree with you on how to define Reference vs Someday actions.
Probably I was not clear in my initial post. I do separate Reference and Someday actions. In fact I have hundreds of reference items in Evernote in various folders.
Let me explain what I mean by "Someday stuff is not necessarily actionable"
One recent example was a pair of running shoes that I took a picture of because I want to buy them soon when I start running again. I took a picture in Evernote using my iPhone. This is not a reference, this is an action that I want to do someday. Now I could do two things (if we keep to the methods described in this thread):
1) Create a someday action in Nirvana saying "Buy running shoes" and include a link to the file (either to the Evernote note or just write "see picture" and later locate the file)
2) Move the Evernote note to my Someday folder
I always do number 2. Because I know that this picture represents a possible action, and it would be a waste of time to "transform" this into text-based Nirvana and later refer to the file. It is much easier just to keep it in Evernote. When I do my weekly review, I know that this is a possible action, I can see the picture and I can decide on the next steps.
The same goes with, say, an email that I forward to Evernote. It is something that I might want to do someday. Now I could again create a someday action in Nirvana and link to this email in Gmail. But why not just keep the email in my Someday folder in Evernote and save typing/processing time until I want to do the action?
wow much longer explanation than I intended to. I guess my point in this post is that Evernote integration is essential when you think how easy our workflows can be if all necessary information is included IN the Nirvana action.

I see.
I would always do number 1 because it keeps everything inside Nirvana that I would look at during my weekly review. This would prevent me from looking at Evernote and streamline my weekly reviews.
Everyone works differently so do what works is what i always say.

@Proximo - Did you say you were inviting everybody over for a Steak Dinner?

I keep all my Someday/maybe in Nirvana
I keep all my references in Evernote.
I agree with Proximo:
a. Everything I have in in Nirvana is actionable - it's only a question of if and when.
b. Nothing I have in Evernote is actionable - it's a library of documents, pictures, clips, whatever...) to look up when needed.
I like steak too :-) ...expensive and not so easy to get where I am living in China.

Well I keep my Inbox and Someday in Evernote, but nevertheless I like steak too. So we can all agree on that :-)
I suggest a feature: Nirvana-sponsored steak-dinner and N2 launch party. :-)

I am with all of you on the Steak Party. I am the cook in our house and I make some Awesome Steaks on the Grill.
A Nirvana launch party would be interesting. Let's see... Elbert is in Canada, David is in Mexico and I am in Texas. David can drive up and pick me up and we can keep heading North to meet with Elbert. I know David would prefer for Elbert to drive down, pick me up and pick up David.
OR.....
David and Elbert can meet me in the Middle which makes it easy for the other 100,000 Nirvana users to meet in the center of the US. Sorry for all you international users. The trip will be a little more costly for you. :-)
I can start hosting some Google+ Hangouts for the Nirvana community. This will actually allow us all to see each other, discuss things and hangout.
Who is in?

I am in Iowa.... :)

Not to divert attention from planning the steak party (I'm in!), but are there really 100,000 Nirvana members? Active?
If so, that is really impressive! I guess I am fooled by these forums into thinking that it is just a small tight-knit community of users. But that's great news for the development team. A party is definitely in order.

@Phil
I completely made that number up. I have no clue how many active users they have in the beta. They mentioned it at one point but I forget what it was.
I do know the percentage of Active users vs. the number of people who share on these forums is very low. I would not be surprised if only 10% of Active users participated in the discussion we have here.

There are not 100k - but we are well into 5 figures for signups - some more active than others...

I live in northern Italy. If somebody could pick me up, I'd rather gladly try this infamous American "slow and low" barbecue everybody keeps talking about :)
