Workaround for creating templates for tasks / projects
One feature I miss in Nirvana is copying tasks / projects or at
least being able to create a template. While reading a discussion
about this, I had an idea for a workaround (creating email
templates). It's actually really simple and I'm probably not the
first to think of this but I thought I'd post it anyway.
I use Postbox Express for my emails so I don't know if my procedure
works with other programs, but here's what I do: There are a few
projects which I have to repepat every few weeks. To create a
"template" for them, I create an email for each task (the header is
the task name, the body of the email is the task's note), enter my
Nirvana inbox as recipient and save the emails in Postbox's
Templates folder. Whenever I want to create one of those tasks or
the aforementioned project in Nirvana, I just go to the Templates
folder, mark all the emails I need, click on "resend" and they turn
up in my Nirvana inbox from where I drag them to their appropriate
location. Now all that's left to do is assign tags and dates if
needed.

Brilliant! I am disappointed that I didn't think of that. Hopefully the Nirvana team incorporates a system for creating project / task templates in the future, but this solves several challenges I have now.
Thanks!

Quite clever. I use templates for my knitting projects and will give this a try for my next one. I don't think Gmail will do it directly, but I have Thunderbird set up on that account for back-ups, so I can route it through that.
