Making a task due today
If i edit a task, and click Due, the default is today (I like that). When I drag to Scheduled, tomorrow is the default and I cannot select something due today. This is important to me in my daily reviews where I may have forgotten to set a due date or I want to commit to getting it done today when it has a soft date.
a. Please make them consistent on default date (either for today
or tomorrow)
b. regardless of the default, if I drag something to Scheduled
allow selecting today as a valid option.
Thanks,
Rob.

@rfo
There are no soft dates in GTD. The functionality you described is intended. Something can be due today but it can't be scheduled today. If it's scheduled today, then it's due not scheduled. Scheduled means for a future date that is not today.
If you are going to commit to getting something done today, just mark it with the star and let it show up in your Focus list. You should not add dates to task unless they are truly due that day.
If you add soft dates to task, the due dates become less meaningful because if you miss the date you can simply pick a new date which is not a good habit to start doing. When looking at your calendar or task with due dates, these dates should be extremely important and something you can't waiver on.
Scheduled task are in the future and are used like a Tickler. If I want to remember a task that should be considered later in the week, I can add a scheduled date to have it pop up in my focus list to get my attention. The task is not due that day, it's simply a tickler to get my attention and I would need to decide what it means at that time.
You can also use a Scheduled date (Tickler) in conjunction with a Due Date. Let's say I have a report due on Friday to my boss. That get's a due date because it's truly due on that day, no exceptions. Let's say I know it will take me several hours to get the report created and I want to make sure I start on it with enough time to turn it in on Friday. I can add a Scheduled date for Thursday and the task will show up in my Focus list on that day. That gives me a full day to get the report done and ready for Friday.
At least this is how I understand things with GTD.

Very interesting. I now see that Due Date and Scheduled are two different things. I was thinking it was just two ways of doing the same thing.
My Daily Review sessions are not as rigorous as GTD calls for, or don't happen every day, so I end up having many important things starred but not all of them will get done Today. Maybe I need to not do that so much.
Thanks for the response!
