Recurring tasks - x timeframe from last time it was completed

I currently use ThinkingRock. It has a very nice recurring task capability where the next task is scheduled x timeframe from the completion of the previous. I'm an online teacher and need to periodically clear things or set things for students or for the class overall but it's just 1 week or 1 month from the last time I did it not on a specific day

I would love this feature too! I use recurring tasks a LOT!

Good suggestion. Have made note of it for the dev team when they tackle the recurring tasks features. thanks!

The lack of recurring tasks is making my GTD life hard. I have to keep rescheduling, re-rescheduling, and re-re-rescheduling the same old "wash the toilet" task. Not to mention, I loose the history (although I understand that I don't necessarily need to keep track of history of a clean toilet - put there are some tasks I do.) (An optional automatic archive would be nice, too.)

I wont bother asking when we'll see it, just that I vote for moving that card up the stack.

I have been very ready to move over to Nirvana for well over a year now, but I can't do that until there are recurring tasks. It seems that it's been near the top of the dev tasklist for a long time. I looked today at a forum topic from August of 2009 that said that recurring tasks will be showing up "soon." Is there any word on when this feature will be available?

In the interim, how have people managed around this issue? Is there some process you use that that helps. I'm thinking about setting email reminders to go to my Nirvana email address but would like to know how others deal with this.

I have a project called "Recurring Tasks" where I dump all my...wait for it...recurring tasks. I use Scheduled to schedule each of these tasks to appear in my Today/Focus list on the appropriate day. When I complete the task, instead of checking it off, I drag it back to Scheduled and tap the next date I want it to appear.

In the current version of N2, I have to also unstar the task to get it to disappear from Focus after rescheduling, but that will hopefully be fixed in a future release...

Sort of a manual method, but it's working for me in the interim.

@haeffb, I like that workaround. I think I may test it once the Scheduled bug is fixed. Seems this could also be used for recurring tasks that are based off the completion of the previous task too. My thinking about email reminders would not cover that scenario.

Add my support of this request as well. Even basic recurring would be great to see.

I'm going to throw my hat in for recurring tasks as well. Nirvana team, what do you think the timeframe might be on this feature?

    +1

And a workaround that need not be manual at all:
    1. Enable the email to inbox feature
    2. http://www.lettermelater.com/
This site allows you to create a free account and have it send emails later and recurring too.

    I use it myself.
