Hi,

I don't know if this have been discussed already but I would like to see something done with the finished tasks.

When I tick of the task I would like a setting that can hide or show the finished tasks.
I don't want to archive them or erase them since I usually have notes in them. For examples checks I did, conversations I had regarding this and so on.

Thanks,
Andreas

It has been discussed and some future options are coming.

If you archive completed task, you can always go back to find them and see the details again.

Some of the options discussed are.

When you finish a task (Checked the box)

    Task archives automatically
    Task stays where it is
    Task archives after X days
    or
    Task moves to trash

this is a great suggestion that clearly, based upon the feedback we have received so far, will be getting some attention!

Anticipate that you will be able to set this option as a preference for your user account. TBD when this will launch however.

    thanks!

Great! I know we've discussed this elsewhere, but I'll recap a few ideas here.

I'd like to see archived tasks keep their association with their project until the task is deleted.

I'm on the fence about also keeping their tags, but if you can recall an archived task within a project, then tags probably aren't at all necessary. The issue I see is that selecting a context tag should not bring up archived tasks. Proximo had this problem I think.

From within a project, I'd like to be able to show/hide archived tasks for that project. There is your project history right in front of you.

With the above in place, archive and trash are more clearly distinct and you never need to go dumpster diving in the archive bin to find some old task ever again. (Well, only for sport I suppose.)

100%... this is important info to retain. Agreed.

yeah... something to think about, but I think project info trumps tag info as tags are kind of fleeting. What with Areas of Focus now launched, keeping the associated data of AoF to an archived task will be more important as well.

yes... others have asked for the same thing.

    thanks!

What about auto-archiving the completed tasks at the end of the day. Things for iPhone does this and it's an elegant solution. I like seeing my completed tasks as I'm working throughout the day, but I don't want to see all of them the next morning when I log in.

that could also be a solution. I've noted it for the team for when they get onto tackling this pref.

    thanks!

+1for auto-archiving completed tasks at the end of the day.

I am not sure if I missed something, but currently the only option seems to be to manually drag completed items to the archive or bin. I read somewhere that you had an option while being in archive to collect all completed tasks but I cannot see this. Am I missing something or you are currently working on this?
