Clicking a tag could create a smartlist

Just a random idea.

I find myself clicking on the tags every once in a while - wondering why I don't then go to a view that shows me every item with that tag.

So until you get a tag management screen set up i would be cool to automatically create a smart list for a single tag when a user clicks on the name of the tag. I'm not talking about the filters on the top of the screen, but the tags that are listed for each task or project. Clicking on one of those items does nothing today. It would be cool to have it auto-create a smart list for that tag.

thanks
James

    Sounds like a neat idea.

That is a neat idea. Some notes about tags...

    1. we'll be migrating tags into a library structure (right now it's freeform)
    2. Smart Lists do exist now... just a "poor man's" version. So perhaps if you are finding yourself wanting to see these lists now, simply press "l" on your keyboard (lower case "L") and get started. This simplistic version of Smart Lists is perfect for one tag filtering across all views. That said... there is no auto-create as you suggest.

    thanks for sharing!

JamesT... just to let you know that in the new release (June 30th) you set a user pref to SHOW or HIDE a tag cloud in the left hand navi. Clicking on the tag from the tag cloud will let you slice across all views and show you all tasks containing that tag.

This isn't exactly the smartlist feature you were talking about but allows you to filter in the way you described. Smartlists (saved filters) is still on our roadmap.

To get to the preferences pane, click on your name located in the top navi and select PREFERENCES from the option menu.

    thanks,
    C
