I would like a Weekly Review Tool to facilitate a review process. Some thoughts:

  • set it up on a reminder
  • Each screenful would be one Project (within the Area of Focus you are in)
  • Top area would have your project description (which would hihglight if empty) and maybe an editable large text area where you could store your weekly checklist as a reminder.
  • A quick add task area
  • the list of tasks for that project

How it would work is you would navigate sequentially through all projects looking for missing tasks, Next tasks, etc.

Thanks,
Rob.

Thinking Rock had something similar but in a simplistic way.

To automate the Weekly Review would be difficult because different people go about in different ways.

I think it would be nice to have a Diagram of the Weekly Review that sits to the side when you are going through it. Not sure if forcing Nirvana into doing the Weekly Review in a particular way would work for everyone.

    Weekly Review:

    • Collect Loose Papers & Materials
    • Get "IN" to Zero
    • Empty Your Head
    • Review Action List
    • Review Calendar
    • Review Waiting-For List
    • Review Projects
    • Review Checklists
    • Review Someday/Maybe List

This is the weekly review as David Allen describes it but it does not mean that everyone would go through it in that exact order. Having different Areas adds to the complexity of automating it.

    Just a thought.

P.S. I would love for it to be automated but I am not sure it could be done in a way to satisfy everyone. :-(

Yes, i am thinking a diagram (or list) but that each user could edit it. Just a handy place to have a checklist.

I think the core of my idea, whether Weekly Review or otherwise, is to quickly navigate through every Project and see the tasks for doing maintenance.

I would be perfectly happy having arrow key shortcuts or buttons to click.

Hi rob... in the next release there will be lots of power user keyboard shortcuts. Arrow keys, for example, can be used to navigate through projects quickly. thanks.

A weekly review tool would be huge. Certainly, shortcuts to navigate projects would help speed things up. Hope we get this update soon!!!
