With an Air desktop client Nirvana will the one tool to replace all the other stuff I use. I’m currently using Toodledo. The only thing missing is a cool desktop Air client. By making an Air client you won’t have to worry about platforms (Win, Mac, Linux…).

I'd rather see an offline mode using Google Gears or HTML5, then they don't have to maintain a whole separate app. If you use Chrome or Firefox with Prism extension you can create a standalone applicate from any website.

So with an offline mode and this you have a universal app for all systems.

I agree with Robin: both Prism and Chrome work like a charm, no need for air app

I think there's more important features to add first...

Sjurgr... thanks for your suggestion. This, will, however, have to take place on the backburner as Ollie points out, there are more features we need to integrate first.

That said, I have added it to our list for the dev team for review regardless

    thanks!

I agree with sjurgr. Our company policy does not really allow us to use any service that we do not host ourselves. An Adobe Air version would solve this problem if one could choose to store the data locally. Since we are looking into implementing a new task management system, such a solution might be what tips the scale for my company at least.

    This is just my opinion.

Air Applications are usually terrible and don't run great.

I think a Web Application that runs on-line makes Nirvana powerful and usable in any OS. Google Gears is going away because new developments in HTML 5 allow for offline mode to websites.

Forget Google Gears and use the new HTML 5 coding for offline access when needed.

I used Prism fine with Firefox 3.6 but noticed I was not able to use any keyboard shortcuts while in Prism.

    Anyone else have this problem?

I use Prism Firefox Extension as well and have the same issues.

I LOVE Keyboard shortcuts and can't live without them. I won't be able to use Prism until I have my shortcuts. :-(

    @M Callen,

I found a solution for you.

    1. Install Chrome Browser (No need to make it your default browser)
    2. Go to the Nirvana website and log-in
    3. On the top right you will see an icon that looks like a piece of paper. Click it.
    4. One of the options called "create application shortcut" Select that.
    5. Now you see a Dialog box where you can choose Desktop. This creates an icon on your desktop.
    6. Now you have a stand alone Nirvana Application and it runs fast that works with the keyboard shortcuts.

Using this setup, you don't need to change Chrome as your default browser. If you prefer Firefox like me.

    Hope this helps.
