I feel like this would be the most valuable for the Today feature but it would be nice to see a total time estimate, a sum of all the task time estimates, and an energy estimate, the average of the energy levels, at the top of the list near where the filters are. I know it's not a dramatic feature but I think it would be cool just to get an overview of the tasks at the beginning of the day

I kid you not. I just mentioned this to a co-worker of mine about 15 minutes before I read your post.
I was only thinking of a total sum of time for the task in the Today list, so your idea goes further than what I was initially thinking.
I think it would be neat as a self analysis. I agree that it's not critical at all, but would be a cool feature.

That's awesome! I'm glad to see hear that this feature might get implemented. I agree that it would be a good way to do some self analysis, especially a good way to see the time an effort required for a day or project. I also sometimes do volunteer work and I think it would be a good way to layout and get a sense of what a project would take before I agree to do it.

I want to make sure you understand that I am not part of the Nirvana staff. I am only a user like everyone else.
Sometimes people think I work for Nirvana but that's not the case.
Just because I think it's a cool idea, does not mean it will be implemented. I don't have that type of power over the Nirvana Staff. I have tried many times, but my Jedi Mind Tricks are rusty at best.
Elbert and Christiane are the Nirvana Staff. So if you hear Elbert of Christiane get excited about something, then it's time to cheer.

Ha! We've been batting this idea around for awhile.
Glad to hear we're not alone in thinking that this would be a cool feature.

Great idea Peter regarding the total time of tasks in the list. Wouldn't it be cool to see a breakdown of these time estimates by context: today you'll spend 45 minutes on writing emails; 60 minutes on the phone; 30 minutes running errands.
