Integration of Nirvana into Fluid
Hi,
I've been using an online application with Fluid as to make it like behave like a desktop application. I can't seem to make this work with Nirvana. Is there anyway that this could be done? And if not, do you think it might be a good idea to integrate that functionality functionality in order to enable to use Nirvana as a desktop application?
Thanks,
Alex

It's easy if you use Chrome as your browser. It's a simple menu option and takes about 5 seconds to make any website an application.

All the best of success with Nirvana,

@Alex.
Please note that I am not with Nirvana. I am just a normal user like everyone else. So please don't take my response as one from Nirvana Staff.
I was just pointing out that Chrome makes it easy to make a web application. I am not a Mac user, so I can't help you with Fluid because I know nothing about it.
Just making sure you know this. :-)

Nirvana2 works fine with fluid for me and has for like 2 weeks with the latest version of Fluid, what problems are you having specifically?

I hope Alex does not think my quick response is because I did not care to answer his original question. I really hope Alex does not think I am part of the Nirvana Staff and he got upset about my reply.
Alex.... Please let me know that you understand so that I can sleep better at night.

Haha, not at all Proximo. But seems Chrome for Mac doesn't support
Application Creation at the moment. Apparently they expect to have it up and
running sometime this summer...
Also, @scottschulthess, I was trying at first to create an application that
would point directly to my inbox url. For some reason that didn't work.
However, I just tried it again pointing to nirvanahq.com and it works fines.
Guess I was too quick with the Forum question ;-)
Thanks for your comments guys!

@Alex
I feel much better now. I don't use a Mac so I was not aware of Chrome missing this feature.
I am actually thinking of getting a Macbook Pro laptop. This would be the first time in my life to run the Mac OS.
Have not decided yet, but been thinking about it. I love Windows 7 but I use it at work and home, so I wanted to try something different for a change. :-)

@Proximo & @Alex: Application creation is not possible on the Mac version of Chrome at the moment. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed for an update there, since it is a very useful feature on the Windows side of Chrome.
@Proximo: In response to your fabulous idea of getting a Macbook Pro laptop - just do it. You won't be disappointed :-). The Macbook pro line was updated just last week with new processors, graphic chips and the new thunderbolt connector. And there was a developer preview of an updated version of Mac OSX (due this summer) released last week as well. Exciting stuff :-). Plus, if you love Windows 7, there is always the possibility of having a dual boot solution on the Mac,
I apologize for turning this into a commercial but being a switcher myself (almost going on two years now), I would hate to see for such a nice guy like yourself, to miss out on all of the fun ;-).

@Proximo:
I installed Ubuntu 10.10 over the weekend on my Win7 laptop and was blown away. Very nice OS and you can also dual boot with Windows. Install was super-simple - just download and burn to a CD, then boot from the CD and you're in.

@Elurven
I just may do it simply because I want to try something different. I need correct my statement and say that I use Chrome OS for 100% of my personal computing but use Windows 7 100% at work.
If I get a Mac, it's simply to try something different. I am very happy with Windows 7 and Chrome OS is actually really cool. I love my CR-48 Notebook and it turns head when people realize what I have. :-)
@haeffb
I ran Ubuntu for a while but got tired of simple things being complicated to accomplish. I experienced this mostly because I ran high end graphics hardware and needed to update my drivers manually with the console commands. One time I destroyed the entire OS and had to re-install. This should never be the case when installing something as simple as a graphics driver.
I was also blown away by Ubuntu because it runs so much faster with lesser hardware. I was running it on a very powerful workstation, so the GUI effects where amazing. I used it for a while but eventually decided to using a computer should not require programming skills which I don't have at the moment. :-)
Back on topic.
You can't create a standalone application with Chrome on the Mac, so Fluid is the alternative. You see, we are back on topic again.
