Offline Mode
I am pretty sure you got that on your list, but what about an
offline mode via google gears?
Nirvana seems to be a great and very useful tool as long as you are
online.
If your connection breaks at a point your lost by now.
best wishes, Oliver

Hello Oliver,
Thanks for your comment and suggestion. While we want to have an offline version of Nirvana as well, we want to rollout what we see as being some core features first, then we'll address this additional feature. Whether we'll use Google Gears, Adobe Air, HTML5 etc... is to be determined by the dev team still.
So stay tuned.

So, I'm just chirping in to say I'd totally want an offline mode / way of viewing my lists!
I run an office and am quite frequently outside and away from internet [since all i got is an iPod Touch].
Am using pivotal tracker right now, and only just stumbled on Nirvana today [have been dreaming of an online GTD that could replace theHitList for ages]. Looks great! =)

No Desktop Client means no client from me, sorry guys - was psyched to check out a new system, but being online is one of the biggest things that gets in the way of my Getting Things Done - forcing me to be online is a disaster for my productivity.
See ya! Good luck!

Add me to the list of people who are waiting on an offline mode. Hope you're able to work it out. Great work!

Really like the program! Offline mode is a MUST! The ability to capture everything - which is what GTD is all about, right? - means that users have to be able to jot down info even when not connected. I guess you could e-mail to your Nirvana address from a cellphone to deal with this in the short run, but it's not ideal.
That being said, have just converted most of my info over from the pro version of Evernote, which I was using to jury-rig a GTD solution. Best thing about that app is the ability to capture info and sync it up to the web. But in every other way, I like Nirvana more.
Keep up the good work, and please focus on this one. It'll pay off for you guys in spades.

Hi there,
I have just signed onto your Beta test. I have been looking hard for a good GTD system that works with Android and that follows GTD. I like the clean layout of your dashboard. I must try out the mobile version. I am looking forward to your android release.
I feel that:
1. Offline mode is crucial, networks go down, or if you are mobile they are not always accessible. However ideas and things that need doing keep on going. Need a trusted system that will capture these or that you can access locally to continue with your actions.
2. Persistent/ Recurring tasks, MOT, Car service, birthdays etc, my trusted system should be able to carry these and remind me as needed.
3. Date and Time scheduling. Sometimes things are just that busy you need to plan have the next actions not just planned but also timed.
looking forward to this Beta with you all,
best wishes
John

Hi John -
Thanks for your feedback. We are currently working on all of the issues you raised. We are actively working on both offline and recurring tasks. Time scheduling is in the queue, but is probably a few weeks out.

Elbert

I am hoping that you will be adding this feature using HTML5 as the iPad has major issues with most adobe products. In fact, for all of those looking for an iPad version, Nirvana in HTML5 will do the trick.

html5 all the way, baby...

Offline mode should be put at the top of the roll-out list. As I've posted elsewhere one big problem with Web 2.0 apps is the assumption of ubiquitous (and functional...) network. Not everybody lives in a city and not every city or town has a robust data network. And people travel. Perhaps the most critical aspect of GTD is the "trusted system" that's always there. A part-time system dependent on a network fails this basis premise of GTD. "Oh I can't add a task cuz I'm not connected" "I can't pull up a task cuz I'm not connected." It truly is a deal breaker.
Thanks!
