Understanding Focus
- Focus is a flag, not a state.
- Focusing or unfocusing does not affect state.
- A task or project in any state can be flagged for Focus.
- Tasks and projects flagged for Focus are grouped for convenience in a folder called Focus
- Tasks shown in the Focus folder, are not removed from their natural 'project' or 'state' folders, they appear in both.
- Focus can be manually applied/unapplied by clicking on the star in front of the task/project title
- Focus is automatically applied, in a 'new day' server process
based on your account TimeZone setting, when:
- A project or task has a due date defined and that date occurs, the project/task Focus flag is set on - their state is not changed.
- A scheduled project's or task's scheduled date occurs; a project's state is changed to Active, a task's state is changed to Next - and they are flagged for Focus
- A Scheduled Recurring task is created; it's state is set to Next and it is flagged for Focus.
- The Focus folder has three options for viewing; Unified List, Grouped by Project, Grouped by State
- The Focus folder maintains its own ordering sequence that does not affect, nor is affected by, ordering of other 'state' or 'project' lists.
