There are a few ways to connect Nirvana with the outside world. This section will teach you how to print or export your data, how to email items, and how to call, email, or access links from your notes.
Here, you can choose to export your data as .csv (the most popular format and readable by Excel), .xml, or .json.
Check your downloads folder for a file beginning with Nirvana_V2_Export.
Good to know: This lets you access more of your history than available in the logbook. It will give you all of the data from your account except for what you’ve emptied from your trash.
Email items from the web app
Using the web app, you can easily email actions, projects, reference lists, or reference items. To do this, right-click the item you want to send and choose Email this… from the drop-down menu.
Depending on what you’re sending, you’ll create a blank email with either:
The action or reference item name as the subject and its notes as the email body
The project name as the subject with the action titles organized by state in the email body
The reference list name as the subject with the item titles and notes
Here are a few tips to help you make the most of different types of links:
Link to web content
Nirvana assumes you’re using http or https as a protocol in your links. If you need to access another protocol, such as FTP, make sure it’s written at the beginning of the link.
Link to files stored online
These work just like web links. If you use a cloud-drive type service (e.g. Google Drive, OneDrive, etc), create a link to the file or folder and add it to the notes section of your item. Click the link and the file or folder will open.
Make phone calls
Click directly on the number to make your call via mobile phone or any click-to-call extension installed on your web browser. Phone numbers are clickable with the following formats: 1-123-123-1234, 1 123 123 1234, (123) 456-7890, 123 456 7890, or 123-456-7890. You can also use dots in place of dashes.
Launch emails
To launch a blank email, add the address to the notes. Click the link to launch your email client.
